Update - 07/06/22
Hello and welcome,
Quick recap from last year. The after school programs we run have been very successful and we're looking to the new year to play our first games against other local schools. Our head coach was invited to be interviewed on "at the face" podcast. You can listen to Andy's thought's by clicking this link
Our girls and womens program moved to the Sheffield venue last year where we hosted the first full contact session since the COVID rules allowed us, honestly the girls did great and once they got used to the contact and equipment things really did start to click. We are hosting another session on 26th June 2022 in Sheffield at 9:30am-11:30am for just £20 and all the kit will be made available on arrival. Sign up here.
Sheffield Venue - Skate Central, 1 Queen Street, Sheffield, S2 4DF
Our Stockport venue finally got full permission on the planning application the Disley Amalgamated Sports Club had submitted what seems like months and months ago now, so we are looking forward to the new facilities / re-turfing works to be carried out this side of summer.
Our newly appointed Junior Sec Ali Dahesh will be ramping things up with the Junior boys program, looking forward to some tournaments and mini leagues as things pick up again this year as the lacrossing world gets back to normal.
We are constantly looking to grow the game and would love to carry on our expansion into East Cheshire with our schools coaching programs. We have great coaches ready to come into your school and can provide all the equipment and a free taster session to get things going, please just get in touch if you feel this is something your school would benefit from.

Here at Northern Box Lacrosse we aim to bring Box Lacrosse to the masses. Field lacrosse has dominated the UK game for over a hundred years with its roots firmly stemmed from Manchester so we are trying something new.
2020 is going to look at getting women and girl's playing box lacrosse, we are also taking the game into the local schools. If you are interested in playing then fill out the play registration (link above) and we'll let you know all the dates we've got planned for this year. You can also check out the calendar below.
Box Lacrosse is a smaller, faster 6 a-side version of the game, perfect for beginners and even better for the more advanced players to hone their stick speed and Lax IQ.
Part of our growth plan is to build a full sized indoor floor. The UK doesn't have a facility fit for purpose and it is our goal to build one in South Manchester that can accommodate our needs, but until then we're up on the hill in Disley, Stockport using old tennis courts we call The Pen.
We're in the process of putting dates in the diary as not to conflict with the regular field season and these will be shared on social media as and when they are booked in. During the next 12 months we will be looking at junior and senior tournaments, camps and a mini league so should your club want to enter a team please contact us.
Playing ages:
Year 3-6 Sticks Only (non contact)
Year 7 -8 Helmets / Gloves & Sticks (non contact)
Club - u13's, u15's and u17's - Adults (full contact)
Any questions please just email or call

Event Calendar
2021
We are planning junior boy's and men's mini league along with open sessions for all.
2020
Well lets just say..................COVID-19 happened. We did manage to get our women's and girl's programs off the ground to a certain degree. We hosted social distant safe hands free / skills based sessions over the summer.
2019
World Indoor Lacrosse Championship, Vancouver, Canada, September 2019. This year saw our England Senior team take flight to Langley, BC Canada for the 4th indoor lacrosse world event. Players from 20 teams from around the globe competed on the biggest stage to date. With Northern Box Lacrosse contributing to 9 of the 15 English based players we took the Langley the program we have built up here is showing its strength.
Team England came 4th (previously 5th). Narrowly missing out on the bronze against the US Team. The best of the none professional teams has shown that training on a tennis court can really push full time pro's to their limits when you play as a team. Great efforts from all the lads and a pleasure to be part of, well done all round...............medals on the horizon.

Tasko Cup, July 2019 - London Knights take home the Tasko Cup for a second year on the bounce. They beat team UKLacrosse in the final with a overtime golden goal. The golden goal was taken well (apart for the UKLacrosse keeper, Sammy Ives) as a hidden ball play by Danny Eckersall surprised everyone and pinched the victory for the Knights.
All involved should be very proud of how far we have come. In such a small space of time the competition and numbers has grown from strength to strength with new teams being formed through popularity of the new sport. Players abilities and understanding of the game has shown that box lacrosse is the quickest way to learn lacrosse..........next years tournament will be held and managed by the Southern Box Lacrosse association. (dates to be confirmed).

The Draft, June 2019. This years draft grew evermore with new faces participating. With the junior sessions being held before the seniors, this allowed the young lads to stick around and watch how fast the game can be played and something for them to think about in the future.
U14's Tournament, May 2019. The first junior box lacrosse tournament in the UK was held up at the pen in Disley. With 6 teams averaging 10-16 players per side we saw some great lacrosse. Cheadle took home the trophy and a well deserved final against a strong Stockport team. This could have been a different storey had the Gatley team not managed to secure their semi final shoot out win.
Great feed back from all the coaches and players and a special thank you to the parents for showing your support and being part of the action.........we'll see you next year.

2018
2018 saw our new Disley, Stockport facility take centre stage for the Tasko Cup. Campers and players enjoyed a full weekend in the pen. The London Knights took a well deserved 1st place beating last years winners the Heaton Hornets in a penalty shoot out. UKLacorsse came in 3rd and look to be taking things to the next level for the 2019 Tasko Cup.......so I hear!
Our new venue hosted junior session in the first "draft" sign up were young players learnt new skills and tac-tics, lets hope they can implement these into their field game.
Northern Box Lacrosse coached Hull University on the hill in a pre season session for the Uni team. Some good players to watch and a few in the making. Lets hope we can have them back again next year.

With extra protection needed for box lacrosse (see image below) we highly recommend buying the correct equipment. Full box lacrosse rules now apply at all senior session and tournaments and Northern Box Lacrosse will not be held accountable for players lack of protection. Our sponsors UKLacrosse have box specific equipment / padding in stock so please contact Dan or Keith and they will be happy to help.
Should you need any additional equipment then please contact our sponsors at UKLacrosse.
